Synthwave Sounds: This week’s additions and track spotlight

It’s been another extremely hectic week with another 200 submissions to listen to, and the main issue here being that there was so much talent to choose from. The tracks being submitted on a daily basis really are on another level and I thank you all for sending them this way.

Unfortunately not all of them can be added so I’ve very carefully selected a few of the ones that really fit the list. Here are the tracks chosen for this week:

Glitterwolf – Alana

Alpharisc – A Sign of Fitness

Lightracer – Misty Ride

The Death Beats – Mirage

Jimmy Synthetic – Hicks Ridge

Ollie Wride – Back to Life

Luere Verte – Luere Verte’s Theme

Player One – Stuck in a Room

Pensacola Mist – Neon Glow

Power Cyan/Turbo Knight – Powergrid

Micro Matscenes – Never Losing

Megahit – Alpha Mission

Elay Larson – I Looked Into the Eyes of a Cybernetic God

Now onto our track spotlight of the week. Every week I’ll be showcasing a track that’s been added to the list and briefly discussing it. This week’s spotlight is…

Ollie Wride – Back to Life

Ollie has debuted with an amazing solo release this week in “Thanks In Advance”, his first solo album released on NewRetroWave. The album has already performed extremely well in the iTunes Pop Charts And has risen to No. 63, as well as being the No. 3 selling record on all of Bandcamp.

Added to the Synthwave Sounds playlist this week, “Back to Life” is an immediate stand-out track upon first listening to this tremendous album. With an instant funky guitar ostinato during the intro followed by a verse melody to rival the best, you can’t help but instantly be humming and tapping along to this track. When the chorus finally reveals itself it’s clear that we have a hit on our hands. Listening to the song once only is simply not an option, and I urge you all to do so several times if you haven’t already.

“Back to Life” is available now on all major streaming platforms, Bandcamp and of course the via the Synthwave Sounds playlist.
